We take the Naturns guest bus to the "Aschbach" ski-lift base station. The ski-lift then brings us to the commune of Aschbach above Rabland which stands at a height of 1,362 metres. The walk initially leads us in the direction of Meran/Merano to Seespitz and to the Schwarze Lacke (1,750 metres). Here we can enjoy peace and quiet for a short while. Then we continue past the Seehof as far as the Vigiljoch church, which lends the Joch its name. The walk then leads us further in the direction of Naturnser Alm. On the way there we have the opportunity to take a rest in a pleasant field. A stop for a bite to eat is also possible at Naturnser Alm. The way back to Aschbach is slightly downhill.
We travel by car to Morter, the starting point of the Martelltal valley. From here we walk for about 20 minutes uphill to the weather cross and soon reach Rautwaal, which leads us almost evenly into the valley to the Plima stream. We then follow the Plima for a short while, then cross the road into the Martelltal valley and walk uphill for a few minutes to the crest of Obermontani where we stop for a well-earned rest. After that we continue next to the Neuwaal, along which water no longer flows. Along the path, however, names and years as well as two self-portraits can be seen that were once carved into a rock by a Waaler (term for a local person). The path now leads us to the Latscher Bierkeller. Today this building operates as a small restaurant, but it used to be a brewery. The brewed beer was stored in caves where the air remained at the same temperature all year round. We pass the Mareinwall and finally reach the ruins of Untermontani before returning to Morter through the fruit orchards. At 4.30 p.m. we arrive back at the hotel.
We drive by car to the car park of the funicular base station of the mountain village "St. Martin am Kofel" in Latsch. Upon arrival in the village, we take a short look at the church, which has been built audaciously on the steep slope. We then walk up an equally steep path through the Lärchenwald (larch forest) to a clearing with the name "Dolomitenblick" (view of the Dolomites). As the name suggests, on a good day you have a wonderful view of the Dolomites. Here we also stop for a pleasant midday break. Relaxed and re-energised, the return journey leads us to St. Martin Alpl and then downhill to the car park.
We travel by car to Göflan. From there we walk in the direction of Morter through the pleasant fruit orchards to the Latscher Bierkeller. There we have the opportunity to stop for a rest and sit together in comfort. From Latsch we head back to the cars in Göflan using the public service bus.
We travel by car to the start of the Panoramaweg (panoramic trail) in Goldrain. Then we walk with a slight uphill gradient along the Panorama (panoramic trail) to the Annberger Böden. Here on these idyllic meadows you have a wonderful view down into the valley. The plots of land on the opposite side of the valley, which are still divided up small, particularly catch one's eye. We stop for a short rest and refreshments. Then we descend to the commune of Tiss and then on to Goldrain.
We travel by car to the car park below the Latscher Alm. From there we head uphill following the alpine pasture trail as far as the edge of the woods. From here we continue along stony paths as far as the approach to the Kuppelwieserferner. We then go round this in a westerly direction. The last ascent to the summit is over scree. At the summit you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Ortlergruppe, the Vinschgau and, in the south, the Brentagruppe. You return the same way you came.
We travel by car to Kurzras. The Gletscher (glacier) ski-lift takes us to Grawand (3,200 metres). We then descend to the Hochjochferner (approx. 250 metres) and then with the aid of a rope for security we climb up through the glacier landscape to the Hauslabjoch (3,279 metres). The finding place of Ötzi, the 5,300 year-old glacier mummy, to which we have to briefly descend, is marked with a stone pyramid. After a short stop we then continue our tour and reach the Similaunhütte hut at which we stop for a bite to eat and a well-earned rest. We then walk through the Tisental valley back to the Vernagtsee lake. We head back to the cars using the public service bus.
We travel by private car to the base terminal and the Hochforch ski-lift brings us to the top of Sonnenberg. From Hochforch-Hof you already have a wonderful view right into the Meran/Merano valley basin. Now we proceed through the old larch woods to the Meraner Höhenweg in the direction of Vinschgau. After approx. 20 mins. comes the descent to the small Lahnbachschlucht (Lahn stream gulley). The descent is with well-constructed steps, but requires that you proceed with caution. From the stream, which runs over the rocks like a small waterfall, we climb iron stairs. Soon we descend again using several iron stairs into the large Lahnbachschlucht. We cross the stream and climb for approx. 100 metres using the wood-stepped path. The trail now runs slightly downhill. You already notice from the vegetation that rainfall is somewhat uncommon here above Naturns. We stop for a break just before Pirchhof. After the rest the trail leads us up and down past several old mountain farms. At the Innerforchhof farm we take the ski-lift into the valley. It takes about 10 minutes to get from the base terminal to the guest bus stop. From here the bus takes us back to the cars.
We travel by car towards Plaus as far as the Hochforch ski-lift base station. Having arrived at the top terminal you have a beautiful view into the valley below and of Naturns. The pleasant forest track leads us gently through a sparse larch forest towards Giggelberg. But the terrain soon becomes steeper, although the path continues to be easy. We follow a gently undulating path before reaching the Giggelberg mountain farm. Here we stop for a pleasant midday break. After having relaxed we follow the Meraner Höhenweg towards Zieltal valley. Just before reaching the forest we have another great view below us of Partschins and Meran/Merano. Following a level section the path then starts to climb again. We reach the Nassereith-Alm.From there we walk up to the Steinerhof farm. The ski-lift then brings us down to the waterfall above Partschins. We take the public service bus to Partschins and from there the guest bus back to the cars.
We travel by car to the base station of the chair lift at Algund. There we park our cars and travel with the basket lift to the superbly situated Leiteralm. From there we walk to the Hochganghaus. Here we stop for a pleasant break. At the same time we take in the view of the Texelgruppe nature reserve and admire the fantastic panorama. Now we continue to the Nassereithhütte hut. If desired, you can stop off here before continuing to the Steiner. There the basket lift takes us to Partschins. We take the public service bus to Partschins and from there we return to the cars.

The walk leads us past the Sonnenberg (Lint, Innerunterstell, Kopfron, Want, Unterperfl, Katharinaberg, Neuratheis, Rateis, Waalweg to Schloss (castle) Juval). On the way we take a break at one of the many mountain farms. After having rested and recharged we walk along the Waalweg as far as Schloss (castle) Juval (the summer residence of Reinhold Messner). From there the guest bus takes us into the valley (Schnalserhof) and then back to Naturns.
We travel by car to the base station of the Latscher Alm.The chair lift takes us to the Tarscher Alm (1,940 metres). From there we walk through the alpine meadows to the Zirmraunhütte hut (2,251 metres). Our next destination is the Kofelraster lakes (2,405 metres) to which we have a moderate climb. The marvellously located mountain lakes are encircled by a carpet of alpine roses. After climbing for approx. 50 minutes we reach the summit of Hoher Dieb. Here we have a fantastic view of the Ultental valley, to the south into the Brenta Dolomites and to the south-east to the Rosengarten (rose gardens). You return the same way you came.
We take the ski-lift from the Innerforch ski-lift base station somewhat above Naturns all the way to Innerforchhof. Having arrived at the top terminal, we are already in the Texelgruppe nature reserve. From Innerforch we follow the Meraner Höhenweg (no. 24) towards Linthof. Despite the altitude it is still possible to discover flora and fauna with a Mediterranean influence: Butterflies, European green lizards, juniper, barberries, dogroses etc. After a 20 mins. walk, largely on a level path through mountain meadows, we reach the Linthof snack bar (well-known for its good food). The trail now leads with a slight uphill incline to Inner-Unterstellhof (also a Jausenstation - snack bar) which is towards the mouth of the Schnalstal valley. Here you already have a wonderful view into the Schnalstal valley and of the Vinschgau. Somewhat lower down on the other side of the valley is Schloss (castle) Juval. The Meraner Höhenweg leads with slight undulations past the "Wald" (forest) farm (with a small chapel of St. Francis) From Kopfron the trail leads with a slight incline through mountain meadows and larch woods. Depending on the season you can see a great variety of flowers and herbs. We now pass the "Wand" and "Unter-Perfl" farms. Soon we reach the sign "Katharinaberg", which we follow by heading downhill. After approx. 20 mins. we reach the mountain village of Katharinaberg. At approx. 5:40 p.m. a public service bus passes here on its way to Naturns (12 km, approx. 25 min. ride). The tour can of course be done the other way round, but this involves more gradients: Departure from Naturns with the public service bus at approx. 10:30 a.m. towards Katharinaberg.
We drive by car to the southern valley side of Naturns above the sports pitches. The meditation trail starts here. It was created to mark the end of the millennium. The trail leads uphill with a gentle gradient, and is at times winding. There are 15 meditation points along the trail which are designed to represent various stages in Jesus´ life. Some of them are located at pleasant vantage points. After we have put the climb to the Platzerhöfen behind us we make a stop at Schwarzplatzhof. We now pass through the Schwarzplatz meadows with a view of Naturns and then follow the wooded trail which heads downhill to the Waldschenke (wood tavern) and then back to the cars.
We travel with the public service bus as far as Schloss Juval. After walking uphill to the castle we participate in a guided tour through Schloss (castle) Juval (art collection, Tibetan artefacts, mountain photo gallery, mask collection). Then the trail leads us along the Tscharser Waalweg towards Kastelbell, approx. 200 altitude metres above the floor of the Etschtal valley on a level hill path. The Waalwege are lined with babbling irrigation canals which run alongside the path, and they serve to distribute the water over the fields. We stop for a rest at a pleasant snack bar.The remainder of the trail now leads us past Schloss (castle) Kasten and Schloss Kastellbell. We take the public service which returns us to the cars.
