There are numerous cable railway systems around Naturno / Naturns with which you can reach the wonderful hiking trails and magnificent viewing platforms.

Unterstell cableway system at the Naturnser Sonnenberg

554 m – 1,282 m

The Unterstell cableway operates all year round. Every half an hour from the end of March until the middle of November, from 8am to 7pm. Every hour from the middle of November until the end of March from Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 5pm and every half hour on Sunday from 8am to 7pm. Additional journeys are also possible on demand from 6 persons.
You reach the famous Merano high mountain trail with this cableway, on which you can take wonderful hikes and enjoy the views around you.

Homemade drinks and meals await at the farmsteads on the Sonnenberg, ensuring that you will never go hungry.

Val Senales - Schnalstal glacier cableway

2,010 m – 3,200 m

Every half an hour from the beginning of July to the beginning of May, from 9.00am. to 4.30pm. The beautiful mountain scenery of the Schnals Valley will really appeal to you, especially the contrast between the lush green and sparkly glaciers.


Enjoy breathtaking views at a height of 3,200 m.

Aschbach cableway

525 m – 1,352 m

The Aschbach cableway operates every half an hour all year round from 8am to 12pm and from 1pm to 6.30pm.

Ascend high up with the Aschbach cableway and make your choice between several wonderful hiking trails. You can decide on the Naturnser Alm in one direction and stop for a well-deserved rest here or head in another direction towards the Vigiljoch, where you can enjoy a dreamlike panoramic view overlooking Bolzano / Bozen, the Dolomites and the Rosengarten.

St. Martin am Kofel cableway

626 m – 1,740 m

Open all year round
Timetable: 07.00; 07.30; 08.30; 09.30; 10.30; 11.30; 12.30; and from 14.00; 15.00; 16.00; 17.00; 18.00. Additional journeys possible from 4 persons.

You can enjoy the views overlooking the Vinschgau once you have reached the cableway in St. Martin. St. Martin im Kofel is one of the most beautiful excursion destinations in South Tyrol with its 120 inhabitants and the St. Martin's pilgrimage church. St. Martin, nestled in the fascinating Sonnenberg, is an ideal starting point for light hikes to the various refreshment places, yet those seeking a bit more of a challenge will also feel at home. An insider’s tip is the panoramic high mountain trail from St. Martin towards Schlanders. The depth and breadth of this landscape together with the infinite light are a true experience and this sun-kissed trail is even passable during winter.

Texelbahn panoramic cableway - Partschins - Giggelberg

633 m – 1,544 m

The Texelbahn cableway is in operation from March to November. Every half an hour from March to May, daily from 8am to 6pm. Every half an hour from June to September, daily from 8am to 7pm with the first journey even as early as 7am on Sunday and Thursday. Every half hour from October to November, daily from 8am to 6pm.

The Texelbahn panoramic cableway - Partschins - Giggelberg directly to the Merano high mountain trail into the midst of the Texel Group Nature Park. Arriving at the top you can expect to see dense foliage among sun-drenched larch forests, high-altitude moors, pastures, rugged rock faces, blustering wild brooks, crystal clear mountain lakes and peaks full of views.
